Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film best known for her performances in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16, she had already been offered a variety of television roles which included the leading role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. After her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. This film received nominations for an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial success. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra worked on several notable national and international projects through the years. This includes the British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French historic miniseries Napoleon and many more. She was also an official juror for the Transylvania International Film Festival as and The Cannes Film Festival.
